Photography

We both love to take photos and have 1000s of digital photos and 10,000s of "film" photos which we are currently working our way thru scanning. After every trip we select our favourite photos for screen saver slide shows on our PCs and also build these web based photo albums you see here. Here you will find individual photo albums of the trips and major events in our lives. Often views are best seen on a much wider scale as a panorama, these can be found in the panorama directories.

Some jpeg compression has been used on most of the photographs to keep load times down. Early photos are using a low resolution digital camera, if not a scanned image from a "real" photograph. Later images are taken using our current high resolution Sony F7*7.

Copyright text has been added to protect our intellectual property. If you wish to have a copy of any photograph, without the copyright text or jpeg compression, then please contact us, and we'll consider it. Please dont steal our photos, just enjoy them and feel free to have a look around.

Sue developed all the PHP code used in the photo albums. For those interested, the code builds the thumbnails and mid size pictures, adding on the copyright text, the very first time the page is loaded. The larger, screen size and original size, ones are build on the fly when you look at the picture including adding the copyright on. The copyright code checks a number of points on the photo and tries to pick a colour for the text which will be clear but also blend in.
